Job summary

BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) is hiring a CNC Machinist at USA NC - Durham, supporting precision manufacturing in a fast-paced medical technology environment. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, read drawings, and ensure quality through inspection and process optimization.

Join a team focused on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement. The role requires 2–5 years of machining experience, solid tooling and measurement skills, and effective communication across Engineering

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or CNC apprenticeship preferred.
• 2–5 years related machining experience; knowledge of imperial/metric drawings and GD&T.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, solve problems, and maintain quality records.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, including tooling, fixturing, and offsets.
• Create, modify, or troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software or G-code.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
• Perform first article inspections and adjust programs as needed using micrometers and calipers.
• Optimize machining parameters for quality, efficiency, and tool life.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Document machining data and collaborate with Engineering and Quality.
• 3D Printing experience, a plus.

• Ability to solve problems and analyze data.
