Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Machinist 3 at our Sauk Rapids, MN facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong machining experience, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic set-ups on multiple machines.
• Able to train CNC Operators and Machinists I on routine tasks.
• Develop proficiency with complex setups.
• Perform intermediate troubleshooting procedures.
• Proficient with part inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Measure, mark and scribes dimensions on material for machining.
• Set up and secure holding fixtures and tools on machines.
• Control speeds, feeds, coolant and depth of cut per program data.
• Observe machine operation and adjust controls for accuracy.
• Verify finished work with calipers, micrometers and other gauges.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues.
• Complete required paperwork and data entry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers. Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Complete the necessary paperwork and computer entry steps.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Proficient with part inspection techniques (comparator, profilometer etc.).
• 2-year machining degree preferred.
• Desired Education, Certifications and Experience.
• Must have 3+ years of experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

For candidates based in Minnesota: The pay range for this position is $22.26 - $37.84 per hour plus 10% differential.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
