Follows instructions to machine, fabricate, or assemble parts according to print and operation sheet specifications using conventional, CNC, and sheet metal machines, including saws, riveters, fasteners, setters, presses, spot welders, and hand tools such as grinders and Helicoil installation tools. Performs secondary operations during the machine cycle, such as deburring and straightening. Also performs general labor tasks in the sheet metal/machine shop, including grinding/sanding weldments, straightening bent and twisted parts using manual jacks and hydraulic presses, washing parts in aqueous and ultrasonic machines, assisting painters with prep work, and sand/shot blasting steel weldments. Inspects parts during production using standard gages, micrometers, indicators, vernier calipers, depth gauges, and other measuring devices to ensure conformity to specifications.
