Eaton’s ES GEIS BLDdivision is currently seeking aMachinist - 1st Shift.The core hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00pm.The rate for this position is$33.11per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

• Determine and assist damage to existing tooling and what steps necessary to repair tooling.

• Determine if Die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired.

• Determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem.

• Perform Die Changeovers for different products.
• Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions.
• Operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility will be considered.Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution.
• A minimum of one (1)yearofmanufacturing, design, tooling, and tool designing.
• Previousexperience and / or education in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency withmeasuringtools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
• Previous Experience working with machines to include but not limited toCNCs, Lathes, Mills, etc.

Position Criteria:

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
• Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision.
• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
• Employee will stoop, bend occasionally and walk frequently. Must be on feet all day.
