Qualifications

Job description

At Terumo Cardiovascular, we develop, manufacture and distribute medical devices for cardiac and vascular surgery with an emphasis on cardiopulmonary bypass, intra-operative monitoring and vascular grafting. Our mission is to work as a team to save one more life, today and every day by providing lifesaving technology to cardiac surgery teams around the world.

This position is responsible for fabricating and/or modifying components utilized in new or existing production equipment and products. This involves performing layout, set-up, operating, and making tool adjustments for a variety of machine shop equipment or automatic machines.

Responsibilities
  1. In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  2. Set up and operate all machine tools to include CNC mills and lathes for boring, grinding, milling, shaping, and other operations.
  3. Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include cutting or shaping of metals to precision dimensions.
  4. Layout and machine parts to specified print requirements.
  5. Use all hand or portable power tools to perform drill, tap, grind, file, scrape, sand, lap hone, and all other similar operations.
  6. Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances and use SPC to collect data.
  7. Select, sharpen, and shape standard special cutting tools for use.
  8. Perform all work in accordance with prints, specifications, or other specified documents in conformance with Company standards.
  9. Maintain, and repair all machine shop equipment as needed.
  10. Assist technical personnel in other occupations as required by supervisor to complete projects.
  11. Instruct and direct new Associates in the performance of work as required.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Background Experiences

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related certification and a minimum of eight years of machining experience or completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship program. Basic computer software skills, i.e., Microsoft Office.

  • Starting pay for this position is $24.15 per hour.
  • 80 hours pro-rated vacation and 40 hours sick time offered.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $24.15 to $26.61. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
