Job summary

Stellant Systems, Inc. in Williamsport, PA, seeks a Machinist to set up and operate a limited range of standard machine tools from prints, using hand and precision measuring instruments. You will determine feed speeds to perform precision machining on various components.

Responsibilities include following safety protocols, performing stock handling, maintaining tools, deburring, and reading drawings to maintain tolerances with dial indicators and micrometers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Aware of and consistently follows all shop safety protocols and regulations.
• Perform raw stock order filling using horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cut-off machines, shears, and hand tools.
• Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department.
• Responsible for keeping cutting equipment operable by changing cut-off abrasive wheels, band saw blades, etc.
• Perform deburring parts Buffer-Tumbler-Under-Scope-Bench work.
• Performs less complete machine operations using a limited number of machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, power saws, shears, grinders, punch presses, honing machines, etc.
• Change and/or sharpen cutting tool during operations with supervision.
• Maintain tolerances using dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Perform duties in accordance with Facilities Workmanship Standards and Aid Manual.
• Make simple setups with supervision.
• Communicate any known operation process irregularities to supervisor.
• Maintains work area and tools in a clean and orderly manner daily.

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math
