The Advance Group is currently seeking a 1stshift Machinist for a Direct Hire opportunity at a Machine Shop in Rossford, OH. The ideal candidate will possess experience with both Mills and Lathes.



Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Set up, program, and operate Mill and Lathe CNC machines
• Perform manual machining operations and adjustments in metric format
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, work instruction, and geometric tolerancing
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dials, and gauges
• Inspect and verify workpieces for accuracy and conformance to specs
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized
• Move materials with overhead cranes and forklifts
• Use hand and power tools
• Perform advanced machining operations involving very close tolerances and perform mathematical calculations
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Compensation for the Machinist:

• $32+/hr depending on experience

Hours for the Machinist:

• Hours are Monday – Thursday 6am-4:30pm
• Some overtime during the week may be required
• Depending on business needs, may work Fridays from 6am-10am

Requirements of the Machinist:

• 5+yrs recent machining experience with Mills and Lathes
• CNC Programming, preferably with Fusion 360 software
• Working knowledge of G and M codes and advanced shop mathematics
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Ability to perform maintenance and major repairs to equipment
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
• Comfortable measuring in metric system
