Role Overview

Machinists ensure the continued operation of equipment by performing preventive maintenance and/or breakdown repairs on machinery, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems. Tasks include locating sources of problems, using testing instruments, and following technical documentation.

Responsibilities

1. Remove defective parts, inspect, replace, or rebuild systems to prevent failure.
2. Maintain mechanical knowledge and document actions.
3. Manage inventory levels and communicate needs.
4. Collaborate with team members and communicate process issues.
5. Use SAP for maintenance tracking.
6. Participate in job hand-offs and diagnostics.
7. Attend training, participate in audits, and maintain safety and quality standards.
8. Ensure good housekeeping and operational safety.
9. Work regularly on-site and possibly overtime to meet production goals.
10. Work collaboratively and support company goals.
11. Participate in EHS initiatives and training programs.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience with rotating equipment as a journeyman machinist/millwright.
• Experience with machine shop equipment like lathes, milling machines, etc.
• Technical certifications such as NCCER or equivalent are a plus.
• Ability to obtain TWIC credentials.
• Proficiency in SAP, internet, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of millwright concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
