Position Description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the STRL Mission Support direct hire authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Position Duties/Responsibilities

1. You will perform all types of general machinist work involving machine tool operation, assembly, installation, and bench work required in the fabrication and repair of mechanical parts and assemblies during the prototype and engineering development phase.
2. You will program and operate numerical control (NC) and computer-numerical control (CNC) machine tools.
3. You will effectively plan the methods and proper sequence of operations to follow in fabricating the required parts.
4. You will commonly work to tolerances of .001 inch and occasionally work to tolerances of .0005 inch.
5. You will use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, precision gauge blocks, vernier calipers, height gauges, and special tolerance gauges in setting up and checking parts or assemblies being manufactured.
6. You will perform general bench work such as chipping, filing, grinding, tapping, reaming, scraping, lapping, and polishing as required in fitting and assembling parts into completed assemblies.

Minimum Salary: $32.87

Maximum Salary: $38.29
