POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Machinist - 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am). The Machinist operates CNC and conventional machines to fabricate parts, load parts, cycle machines, detect malfunctions, run production lots, communicate with co-workers, and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Supports Sonaca North America’s policies and commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teamwork, accountability, and respect for people.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check and monitor parts being produced
• Read and interpret blueprints for dimensions and tolerances
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Produce the required number of parts per cycle time
• Deburr and blend machined parts
• Perform daily maintenance on machines
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Complete and maintain paperwork accurately
• Maintain punctuality and attendance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; candidates without may need to pass a pre-employment assessment
• Trade school in machining preferred
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read blueprints and measure with calipers/micrometers
• Focus and attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Work in noise levels from quiet to loud
• Use of PPE required (eye, ear, foot protection)
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
