Our client, a global industrial technology company, is seeking a Machinist Operator 2nd shift to join their team.

Job Title: Machinist Operator 2nd shift

Location: Newbury Park, CA

Pay Range: Up to $33/hr

Job Summary

The Machinist Operator must set up, run, and inspect parts to drawing specifications using CNC Lathe or CNC Mill, and/or CNC Mill turn. Responsibilities include performing first article inspections, correcting discrepancies, and performing advanced setup and fixturing. The role requires troubleshooting skills and the ability to assist other machinists as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, shop mathematics, material properties, and layout techniques.
• Set up and operate CNC Lathe or CNC Mill with 5-10 years of experience.
• Utilize tools and measuring instruments including saws, shears, grinders, calipers, micrometers, calculators, and other hand tools.
• Read blueprints, machine parts, and inspect completed parts and related documentation.
• Retrieve appropriate tools from the tool crib to complete jobs.
• Consult reference books or engineers to resolve questions or issues.
• Maintain equipment as necessary.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

• Ability in reading, writing, and math.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Preferred 5-10 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry/pull/push up to 20 lbs.
• Occasional walking, sitting, twisting, and bending during approximately 3 hours per shift.
