Responsibilities

• Perform full CNC mill setup, including collecting tools, setting stops, indicating vises/fixtures, zeroing parts and tools, and installing tools into the carousel.
• Transfer and load programs using CMT/DNC units or manually input run data; modify or fabricate fixtures when necessary.
• Read and interpret blueprints and program data to execute precise setups using hand tools and inspection equipment.
• Maintain and update setup sheets and program files, ensuring revisions are tracked and documented accurately.
• Operate CNC mills to perform machining operations such as center drilling, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, and milling.
• Inspect bored and reamed holes during operations, make tool offsets as needed, and deburr parts post-machining.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, plug/thread gauges, surface plates, height gauges) to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Load and manage multiple pallets to maximize machine uptime and throughput.
• Conduct and document quality checks in accordance with company standards.
• Collaborate with foremen and manufacturing engineers to verify and adjust shop routers for optimal part production.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including coolant checks, chip conveyor operation, and cleaning of coolant systems and work area.
• Utilize surface grinders to modify tools for custom applications.
• Operate additional CNC and manual machines as required and trained.

The essential functions of this role include:

wearing steel toe shoes

working in a non-temperature controlled environment

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time
