Job summary

Aptiv Interconnect is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate and program CNC mills, ensuring high-precision parts with tight tolerances for the connector industry.

You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, and work with stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous process improvement in a busy machine shop at our Melbourne, FL location.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (vocational/machining certifications preferred).
• Experience: 3-5 years of progressive machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Print Reading & GD&T: Demonstrated strong print reading skills and solid understanding of GD&T.
• Material Expertise: Ability to produce precision parts in Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Titanium.
• Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds and standing during shift hours.

Responsibilities

• CNC Programming, Setup & Operation: Produce small machine parts using machine controls to program, set up, and operate CNC mills.
• Technical Planning & Execution: Plan the daily workflow by studying work orders, drawing specifications, and machining parameters while interpreting GD&T.
• Code & Offset Management: Read and write basic G & M codes, adjust tool/work offsets, and manage spindle speeds and feeds.
• Quality Standards & Compliance: Maintain high quality standards, keep accurate records, adhere to procedures in ISO/AS9100 Quality Systems.
• Process Optimization: Shorten cycle times, reduce costs, improve on-time delivery.
• Equipment & Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, report irregularities.
• Safety & Environmental Standards: Maintain safe operations and a clean workspace.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with supervisors and other departments to solve problems.

• Leadership & Core Responsibilities:

Machining & Technical Operations

Quality, Safety & Process Improvement

• Quality Standards & Compliance: Maintain high quality standards, keep accurate records, adhere to procedures in accordance with ISO and AS9100 Quality Systems, and work with the quality department to support the overall Quality System.
• Process Optimization: Continuously work to shorten cycle times, reduce costs, and improve on-time delivery for existing products.
• Equipment & Preventative Maintenance: Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting irregularities for repairs.
• Safety & Environmental Standards: Maintain safe operations and a clean workspace by adhering strictly to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments to solve problems and streamline production flow.

Position Requirements:

Education & Technical Qualifications
