Job summary

Aptiv in Houston, Texas is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our machine shop team. You will work with management, colleagues, and vendors to meet production requirements, supporting lean processes to reduce costs and promote continuous improvement and safety.

The role requires 5+ years of CNC programming experience, with EDGECAM and SolidWorks preferred, the ability to read technical drawings, and experience with ERP systems for BOMs and routers.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer; EDGECAM and Solidworks experience preferred.
• Industry Domain: Previous ERP system experience, particularly creating BOM/Routers.
• Core Competencies: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, follow oral and written instructions, and

Responsibilities

• CNC Programming & Execution: Write and generate CNC programs according to each part's routing instructions using EDGECAM software.
• CNC Programming & Execution: Select the best metal cutting tooling for each job and verify/maintain programs using verification software per established standards.
• CNC Programming & Execution: Troubleshoot machining nonconformances caused by the CNC program.
• CNC Programming & Execution: Quote new jobs when requested by the sales department.
• Team & Operations Support: Communicate daily with machine shop employees to maintain a monthly production and shipment schedule.
• Team & Operations Support: Collaborate with the sales team to update quote requests and lead times.
• Team & Operations Support: Work with tooling vendors to test and implement the latest cutting tool technology.
