Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our Houston-area team.

You will work hands-on on a wide variety of machining projects, taking parts from raw material through finished product while reading drawings and blueprints. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of machining experience with strong skills in manual mills and lathes, plus extensive horizontal boring mill exposure.

Formación

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating manual mills and lathes.
• Extensive horizontal boring mill experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Independent, self-motivated with safety procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications to plan machining work.
• Lay out work and determine appropriate setup methods, tooling, and order of operations.
• Take jobs from raw material through finished product.
• Inspect and measure parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools as needed.
• Assist with complex machine setups and machining processes.
• Maintain accurate production records and job history.

You’ll work on a wide variety of machining projects, taking parts from raw material through the finished product while working from drawings, blueprints, sketches, samples, and verbal instructions.

What You'll Do

• Work in an air conditioned service center environment
• Set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, and horizontal boring mills
• Machine a wide variety of parts accurately and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications
• Lay out work and determine appropriate setup methods, tooling, and order of operations
• Take jobs from raw material through finished product
• Inspect and measure parts to ensure quality and accuracy
• Sharpen, rework, reset, and repair cutting tools as needed
• Assist with complex machine setups and machining processes
• Perform minor machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition
• Maintain accurate production records and job history
• Assist with marking, packing, stacking, and moving finished products
• Work at different stations as production needs require
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety and environmental procedures
• Operate manual and automated cleaning equipment
• Work independently while knowing when to ask questions or seek assistance

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of machining experience
• Strong experience setting up and operating manual mills and lathes
• Extensive horizontal boring mill experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of machining processes, machine capabilities, and manufacturing materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn company-specific machining and safety procedures
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision and solving machining problems independently
• Reciprocating compressor experience is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing position. You should be comfortable:

• Reaching overhead and working in various positions
• Handling tools, materials, and equipment
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials
• Frequently lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
• Wearing required PPE and following all safety procedures
