Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Lansing is seeking a Working Lead, Machining, to oversee day-to-day shop floor operations. The role directs work, ensures processes are followed, and supports a team on a shift level.

You will coach 13 employees across up to 3 functions, participate in training, maintain equipment, track production metrics, and collaborate with supervisors to meet schedule and quality targets. The position offers a strong benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred with prior manufacturing exposure.
• Strong leadership, training and coaching experience required.
• Lean manufacturing and quality system familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shop-floor operations and guide the team on shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper tool/equipment setup.
• Lead daily team meetings and monitor production metrics and schedules.
• Coach team members to improve performance and ensure quality.
• Support procedures development and implement lean processes.
• Assist with interviewing and training of personnel as directed.
