Job summary

Milacron, LLC is seeking a skilled machinist in Kansas to set up and operate a range of machinery to blueprint specifications. You will read drawings, monitor tool life, and maintain fluid levels while recording labor hours and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience or training, a high school diploma or GED, and a technical certificate is preferred. Physical work and independent work with teamwork are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Verify correct product using job traveler.
• Set-up and operate a variety of machinery (Lathe, Mill, Saw, Core Drill, Hob) to blueprint specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.
• Monitor and ensure all fluid levels are maintained on all equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.
• Must use precision measuring tools specific to job.
• Must use job specific hand tools.
• Read part drawing with sectional views.
• Lift, position and transport work piece with a hoist.
• Must accurately record labor hours into E1 system.
• Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists.
• Maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork and attendance.
• Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
• Recommend improvements for area product and processes.
• Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
