Job summary

Mersen in Salem, VA is seeking a skilled machining technician to set up and operate equipment according to blueprints and dossiers. You will produce pre-production items, monitor scrap rates, and verify first article quality.

You will look for waste reduction opportunities, perform first-level maintenance, ensure traceability, and provide technical support to fellow workers. This role also includes hands-on training for new starters and a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Main duties

• Undertakes adjustment and setting of specific equipment in order to carry out machining operations, based on a dossier and blueprints.

• Makes pre-production items and prototypes, follows established controls to validate the first items manufactured in a production run.
