Job summary

Steelcrest Precision is seeking a 2nd-shift Toolmaker to program and machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, and layouts. You will set up, operate, and disassemble lathes, mills, and grinders, and verify tolerances as required.

The role requires experience with CNC mills/lathes, Mastercam, GD&T, and G-Code, plus strong math and blueprint-reading skills. You must be able to stand long periods and lift 30+ pounds; overtime and a $3 off-shift premium apply.

Qualifications

2+ years CNC machining experience
Experience with Mastercam
GD&T understanding and experience
Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code
Able to read and interpret detailed blueprints
Able to stand for long periods and lift 30+ pounds

Responsibilities

Program and machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, and layouts.
Setup, operate, and disassemble lathes, mills, and/or grind machines.
Verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces.
Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to specifications.
Complete required purchase requisitions, inspection sheets, and production sheets.
Clean and deburr parts, work area, and machine tools.
Identify questions or concerns for customers.
Complete high-quality work on time with minimal scrap and rework, including 5 Whys analysis.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on machine tools and diagnose issues.
