Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to sustain and improve safety, quality, throughput and efficiency on the Tonawanda production floor. The role requires flexibility for off-shifts and hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive lean improvements and performance against targets.

Responsibilities include supporting daily production, managing downtime events, designing safe and efficient work operations, and guiding continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience in engineering problem solving.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Good computer skills and understanding of mechanical drawings/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production on the floor and partner with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in assigned area and reduce waste.
• Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and PFMEAs.
• Lead equipment install, debug, launch and CI activities.
• Provide technical direction to vendors when on site and ensure design requirements are met.
