Job summary

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. in Oregon City, OR is seeking a Machining Lead for the Graveyard shift to drive efficiency, ensure quality, and lead lean manufacturing initiatives.

You will coordinate training, mentor operators, and support continuous improvement projects on the shop floor, with emphasis on safety and on-time delivery. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, GD&T understanding, and experience with manufacturing processes in a metals or edged product environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to provide positive constructive feedback within and between departments.
• Experience in edged product manufacturing is a plus.
• Reading and GD&T understanding is required.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause data analysis skills.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor area output to safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost metrics.
• Serve as primary problem solver to restore process control.
• Lead 6S activities and train operators in the area.
• Coordinate training and support continuous improvement projects.
• Manage small to mid-scale production improvement projects.
• Assist with maintenance and safe operation of equipment.
