Job summary

Hawthorne Cat seeks a Machinery Service Tech 1 (Rentals) to diagnose and repair Caterpillar and allied equipment in our service shop or on site. The role requires minimal supervision, adherence to safety standards, and accurate documentation of repairs.

Applicants should have 2–5 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications or apprenticeship. Valid CA driver’s licenses may be required for field work, with tool provisioning provided by Hawthorne Cat.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–5 years of Caterpillar or heavy equipment repair experience.
• Apprenticeship or technical school in diesel technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment and allied machinery.
• Disassemble/assemble components, test and adjust assemblies.
• Maintain documentation of diagnostics and repairs in service reports.
