Job summary

Klein Tools is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain machine tools and industrial equipment in our Elk Grove Village facility. You will diagnose malfunctions, replace parts, assemble and test machinery, and ensure precision and quality in every step.

Expect to work with a team, use your own tools, and uphold safety and process standards while supporting continuous improvement and cost-effective maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of trade school and/or work experience or apprenticeship.
• Ability to use and interpret fairly complicated blueprints, advanced shop mathematics, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to analyze, plan and perform a sequence of operations with standard methods.
• Sound judgment in machine repairs and related decisions.
• Employee must supply own tools.
• Ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses machine malfunctions and determines the need for adjustment or repair.
• Dismantles machines or equipment to examine parts for defects.
• Replaces defective parts with new or repaired parts.
• Assembles and tests machines to verify correction of malfunctions.
• Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
• Assembles and welds auxiliary pieces as required.
• Burns to remove components as required.
• Inspects finished parts and maintains SPC charts.
• Communicates with coworkers and supervisors to receive instructions.
• Maintains a clean work environment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Conduct PMs as assigned.
