Job description

Position: Machinery Maintenance Mechanic

The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Work involves examining machines to diagnose issues, dismantling or partly dismantling machines, and performing repairs mainly using hand tools. Responsibilities include replacing defective parts, ordering replacements from machine shops, and preparing specifications for major repairs. The role requires comprehensive training typically acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent experience. Excluded are workers primarily setting up or adjusting machines.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with fleet maintenance for Rocky Mountain Region vehicles and equipment, including travel to various field locations.
• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and record-keeping.
• Coordinate with vendors and warranty work, perform safety inspections, and conduct repairs on various vehicle systems.
• Maintain, modify, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fiber optic systems.
• Fabricate mounts and mount accessory equipment on vehicles.
• Travel may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 5 years' experience in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance, or 10 years of related mechanical experience; completion of an accredited trade school is preferred.
• Experience with propane systems, gasoline, and diesel equipment.
• Qualified brake inspector preferred; CDL with endorsements required.
• Ability to work independently, repair equipment within time constraints, and understand mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and maintain certifications.

Physical Demands:

• Work may be performed in garages, outdoors, and remote locations under harsh weather conditions, requiring physical abilities such as lifting, climbing, and working in restricted spaces.
