Job summary

Pridgeon & Clay seeks a Machine Builder in Grand Rapids to collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Automation. You will build, assemble, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain fixtures and special machines, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to standards.

You will work with blueprints and prints, wiring sensors, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Strong mechanical aptitude and Welding/tech exposure are valuable for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Robotics maintenance, mechanical, machine equipment, or welding cert or 5 years' experience.
• Experience with electronic equipment and electronic systems.
• Experience wiring sensors.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
• Ability to read fixtures, components, and equipment with SolidWorks.
• Ability to obtain forklift/Hi-Lo and crane licenses.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and manufacturing knowledge.
• Computer literacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proven strong work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate mills, grinders, drill presses, lathes to produce components per prints.
• Assemble, debug, modify, and repair fixtures and special machines.
• Wire and adjust sensors; route sensor cables safely.
• Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic circuits on machines.
• Read detailed prints and blueprints to manufacture tooling components.
• Perform welding and cutting for fabrication and repair.
• Assist Automation and CI teams with assembly of machines and fixtures.
• Support Maintenance with design, assembly, and related projects.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices and helpers.
