Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking an Extrusion Operator in Scranton, PA to set up, operate, and maintain extrusion equipment in line with quality and safety standards. This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

The role includes monitoring operations, recording production data in M3/Ignition systems, operating forklifts, and supporting process improvements while upholding 6S and safe-work practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA-certified forklift operation experience (stand-up and walk-behind trucks).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand/power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Understanding of raw materials, production flow, and quality control practices.
  • Computer proficiency, especially in M3 systems or similar ERP platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate extrusion machines according to SOPs, schedules, and order specifications. Coordinate with other setup operators during teardowns and new setups.
  • Continuously monitor machines, materials, and environmental conditions to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Make real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and internal quality standards. Document all findings and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Accurately record production data using Ignition & M3 systems and follow all required documentation protocols.
  • Clean and load dryer vessels, weigh material at the end of an MO, issue the material used in M3, and requisition material from the warehouse to stage at the lines in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain machine efficiency and workplace safety (6S practices). Support general upkeep of the production area.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed, including training new employees and assisting with process improvements.
  • Operate forklifts and powered hand trucks to load materials and transport finished goods.
  • Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on machines and tools.

Location: Scranton, PA

Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Pay: $25.00–$31.00

We’re seeking a skilled Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion equipment in alignment with our quality, safety, and production standards.
