Job summary

Delva Tool & Machine in Cinnaminson, NJ is seeking a hands-on shop floor teammate. You will keep the shop clean and safe, support machinists, and help with loading/unloading parts while building skills toward running parts yourself.

This entry-level role offers 1st shift pay of $18–$25 per hour, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. ITAR compliance and precise workmanship are required on all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep the shop environment clean, organized, and safe following 5S standards.
• Change machine filters, check coolant levels, top off fluids, and perform light preventive maintenance.
• Assist machinists with loading/unloading parts, fixturing, and moving materials.
• Learn to load, run, and check a part under direct guidance from a machinist or supervisor.
• Handle finished parts, travelers, and production records, following ITAR documentation requirements.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding.

Overview

Every precision aerospace and defense component that leaves our shop depends on a clean, organized, well-maintained floor and a team that cares about the details nobody else notices. This role owns that foundation: keeping the shop running smoothly so the machinists can stay focused on the work that matters, and growing your own skills toward running parts yourself.

What You'll Own

• Keep the shop environment clean, organized, and safe: sweeping chips, wiping down machines, and maintaining 5S standards at every workstation every day.
• Change machine filters, check coolant levels, top off fluids, and perform other light preventive maintenance tasks as directed, building a working knowledge of how the equipment stays healthy.
• Assist machinists with loading and unloading parts, fixturing, and moving materials and work orders between workstations, inspection, and storage.
• Learn to load, run, and check a part, starting with the basics of setup and in-process inspection under direct guidance from a machinist or supervisor.
• Handle finished parts, travelers, and production records accurately, following our ITAR documentation requirements for controlled components.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding procedures from day one, with the goal of knowing shop safety inside and out within your first 90 days.

Delva Tool & Machine is an AS9100 Rev D certified precision machine shop in Cinnaminson, NJ, producing flight-critical and defense-grade components held to tolerances as tight as +/-0.0002". Our facility runs Vertical Mills, Lathes, Swiss Lathes, and Mazak 5-axis horizontals with robotic loaders and automated pallet systems, two shifts, across a range of materials from aluminum to titanium and exotic alloys. The parts you help support are not decorative: they go into aerospace and defense applications where every dimension and every process step counts. What You Bring

Must-have

• High School Diploma or GED (or Trade/Vocational Certificate)
• Willingness to do physical, hands-on work in a manufacturing environment: sweeping, lifting, cleaning, and moving materials throughout the shift
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully and ask questions when something is unclear
• Reliable attendance and a consistent, professional attitude on the floor
• Eligibility to work with ITAR-controlled parts and materials (U.S. persons as defined under ITAR)

Nice-to-have

• Any prior exposure to a machine shop, manufacturing floor, or fabrication environment
• Familiarity with basic hand tools, measuring instruments, or shop equipment
• Coursework or certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related trade

Pay and Benefits

$18.00-$25.00/hr ($37,440-$52,000/yr), 1st shift, based on experience.
