Job summary

Flexco in West Michigan is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Shop Operator to run production machines in a dedicated work cell. You will set up and operate processes like drilling, cutting, punching, and deburring to produce quality parts.

The role requires a high school diploma, 0–2 years of related experience, blueprint reading ability, and basic measurement skills. Heavy lifting and standing are required; opportunities for advancement exist within a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 0-2 years of experience with punch presses, cut-off saws and drill presses.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Education or training in metals machining and resistance welding is a plus.
• Able to work with micrometers, calipers and height indicators.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Strong mechanical abilities and manual dexterity.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, stand for 8 hours, and operate in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machines for drilling, cut-off, punching, forming, deburring, and tumbling.
• Produce quality parts with close tolerances.
• Perform daily/weekly maintenance on production machines.
• Maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist with product assemblies as needed.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement and Workplace Organization.

Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Shop Operator, to work in our state-of-the-art facility. The chosen candidate will be responsible for operating machines within a designated work cell.

Hours: Monday – Thursday from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Machine Shop Operator – 2nd Shift

Machine operators at Flexco can expect a starting hourly compensation of between $21.00 and $26.00 per hour, or more, depending on skills, education and experience.

Internal employees must be in good standing and are expected to notify their current manger before applying.

What you will need:

• A high school diploma
• 0-2 years of experience with equipment such as: punch presses, cut off saws and drill presses
• Ability to read blueprints
• Any education or training in metals machining and resistance welding would be a huge plus
• Must be able to work with micrometers, calipers, height indicators and other measuring equipment.
• Basic Computer Skills. Basic competency of MS Office or related products.
• Mechanical abilities are a must
• The ability to:
  • Lift 45 pounds, floor to waist
  • Stand for an 8 hour shift
  • Lift 50 lbs. floor to waist
  • Stand all day
  • Push/ Pull maximum of 200 lbs. 50 ft.
  • Trunk Rotation 45 degrees from midline both directions
  • Reach less than 18 inches from midline both directions
  • Obtain a forklift and/or overhead crane license

What you will be doing:

• Set up and operate production machines to perform a variety of repetitive processes such as drilling, cut-off, punching, forming, burring, deburring, and tumbling.
• Responsible for making quality parts that may have close tolerances
• Perform daily/weekly maintenance on production machines.
• Responsible for inventory accuracy.
• Assist with product assemblies as needed.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and Suggestion System as required. Maintain high level of WPO (Workplace Organization).
