Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking a Machine Operator II to join their team. As a Machine Operator II, you will be part of the production team supporting continuous output in the hard tool and lights out area. What's the Job?
- Operate and perform basic setups with minimal supervision to fabricate, cut, shape, drill, and form metal work pieces to meet specifications and support continuous production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications/drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, sequence of operations, and material requirements.
- Support safety and 5S standards by following JSA procedures, using PPE correctly, maintaining a clean work area, and taking responsibility for your own safety and others.
- Perform quality checks, including first article inspection, and detect/report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors.
- Collaborate across shifts and departments, communicate issues related to safety, quality, processes, equipment, or materials, and contribute to continuous improvement through production data and troubleshooting.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education plus 2 years of experience.
- Ability to operate and set up metal fabricating machines (training and certification will be provided for a variety of machines, including Brake Press, Turret, Hairpin, Fin Press, Expander, and others).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform first article inspection for conformance to blueprint and work order requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and interpret English-language safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer tools (including Microsoft Office/Excel/Word and ERP systems) to look up blueprints, production orders, and key parts into inventory; plus the ability to perform operator preventative maintenance.
