Job summary

SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC is seeking a Machine Set-Up Technician to set up, operate, or tend multiple types of cutting or forming machines and robots. Premier is recruiting for 1st and 2nd shifts.

The role requires mechanical skills in an industrial manufacturing environment and a detail-oriented, hands-on approach. Physical work in a noisy factory with PPE is expected.

Qualifications

• Industrial Maintenance Certificate preferred.
• Mechanical skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool or robot.
• Verify that the first piece of the shift is processed correctly by the machine.
• Check that welding, parameters and dimensions are correct.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and measure them to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Start machines and adjust feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
• Install and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices.
• Set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and adjust as needed.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, borers, millers, drills, or auxiliary machines.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces.

The MachineSet-UpTechnicianwill set up, operate, or tend more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool or robot. Premier is currently recruiting for 1st and 2nd shift Machine Setup Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

• Have model changes to be used in the manufacturing areas to produce parts, in the same way to provide maintenance of the machines in the company.
• Verify that the first piece of the shift is processed correctly by the machine.
• Check that the welding, parameters and dimensions are correct.
• Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure them to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
• Start machines and turn handwheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
• Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Move controls or mount gears, cams, or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
• Set up and operate machines, such as lathes, borers, millers, drills, or auxiliary machines, to make metallic and/or plastic workpieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
• Perform the maintenance of the company's machinery.
• Maintain and comply with the procedures of your existing area.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

• Degree/Diploma obtained: Industrial Maintenance Certificate, preferred
• Mechanical skills in an industrial manufacturing environment

General Requirements:

• Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working Conditions:

• Requires physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods
• Subjected to noise from machines which may require hearing protection
• Subjected to metal particles and burrs as material and product passes through machines and to sparks from resistance welding necessitating the use of safety glasses for eye protection

Equipment Use:

• Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• SSW Machinery (Drilling machine or grinding machine including with numerical control, borer, planer, automatic lathe, milling machine).
• Use of measuring tools, wrenches, ratchets, etc.
