Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Machine Repair Technician for 1st shift to support our Lean Cultural Change. You will install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain various machines, diagnosing issues and planning repairs with guidance from supervision.

2–5 years of experience is preferred and a tool set is required. We offer health and welfare benefits, 401(k), PTO, and career development across our global operations.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of machine repair experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work.
• Ability to read drawings, shop math and use standard tools.

Duties:

• Requires the ability to install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain in operating condition various machines and equipment throughout the plant.
• Also must be able to diagnose trouble, determine methods of repair, make installations, plan layout, move and complete work on machines or equipment with minimum of supervision.
• Must have knowledge of construction and machine design prints, shop mathematics and a minimum of 5 years experience in this type of work. Have necessary standard tools.
• Work close tolerances as required and make simple parts if needed. Will do general maintenance functions as required at the direction of the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School degree or equivalent (required)
• 2-5 years Machine Repair experience (required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Constant standing/walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and reaching
• Ascending/descending ladder, scaffolding, or stairs
• Grasping, manipulating, or assembling objects with hands/fingers
• Clear vision (near/far/peripheral) and hearing for safety
• Must have necessary standard tools
