Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a CNC Machinist AA for the second shift to join its Operations Team. The role focuses on machining precision parts and supporting a lean manufacturing environment.

You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, and maintain tolerances to blueprint specifications. Starting wage is $29.20/hour with a $1.50 shift differential and potential increases to $32.08 after one year.

Qualifications

• Hold standard machinist tools.
• Be willing to demonstrate ability to perform all job duties when required.
• Have ability to determine proper speeds and feeds under various operating conditions.
• Hold valid accredited CNC certification or have a minimum of 3–5 years of CNC experience in a machine shop environment or related field.
• Be able to transmit programs to machines from the PC.

CNC Machinist AA - Second Shift

API Heat Transfer is looking for a CNC Machinist AA to join its Operations Team on the second shift. The role focuses on machining and maintaining precision parts while supporting a lean manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:

• Perform layout work on rough and finished machined parts such as castings, forgings, burn plate, and pipe for self-only.
• Manage high‑speed drills and reamers stored in the Machine Shop.
• Set up and operate existing machines, monitoring two CNC control‑operated machine tools for concurrent operation or operating a single manual function machine tool.
• Adapt to new machine tools added to the shop as needed.
• Work to required tolerances directly from prints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Produce quality parts to specifications according to blueprint and/or process.
• Sharpen, grind, and maintain tools.
• Perform daily routine maintenance as specified in startup procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area and equipment.
• Assist lower‑classification machinists.
• Perform minor part programming or part editing at the machine tool control.
• Carry out closely related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate ability to perform all job duties when required.
