Job summary

PCC Airfoils - Minerva Operations in Minerva, Ohio is seeking a Machine Repairman. This role reports to the Facilities Manager and requires working across all shifts with overtime.

The candidate will diagnose, repair, and modify equipment in a manufacturing setting, using blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and a range of tools. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining machines, fabricating parts as needed, and ensuring proper lubrication and readiness of equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Journeyman's Card.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Capable of operating lathe and milling machine.
• Previous machine repairman experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, overhauls, modifies, installs, and removes machines and equipment throughout the facility.
• Uses precision tools and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs.
• Reads complex blueprints and schematics to guide repairs and modifications.
• Ensures machines are lubricated and ready for service after repairs.
• Fabricates replacement parts as needed using drawings and sketches.
• Reads blueprints and diagrams while performing maintenance tasks.
• Maintains clean work area and restores conditions after servicing.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

JOB DESCRPITION

The Machine Repairman works under the supervision of the Maintenance Shift Supervisor: Maintains repairs, modifies, removes, and relocates all equipment, stationary and mobile, in the manufacturing facility. Utilizes blueprints, machine drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, equipment literature, parts lists, assembly drawings, hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment to aid their diagnosis. Analyses and repairs equipment malfunctions. As required by repair, machines parts required using the lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw, grinder, and press.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, overhauls, modifies, installs, and removes the machines facilities and equipment used throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Uses specialized precision hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment and machine tools required to complete the defined job.
• Proficient with vernieer calibers, micrometers and dial indicators.
• Confirms that the machine, tools, and equipment repaired or serviced are correctly lubricated and mechanically ready for their intended service.
• Fabricates new or replacement parts as required to facilitate repairs using drawings, sketches, or sample parts. Works to close tolerances, lays out own work and selects proper materials.
• Familiar with and capable of using normal tools of the trade as well as specialized tools diagnostic aids, meters and gages. Must read and use complex blueprints, machine drawings, operating instructions, diagrams, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, etc. during the course of work.
• Performs necessary housekeeping duties around work area, restores normal work place conditions at completion of repairs or servicing. Cleans excess oil, grease, and dirt from machines and equipment prior to and at completion of repairs or service.
• Performs other duties related to the job as directed by the Supervisor.

Weight Limitations

• To work in tight or confined spaces
• To manipulate heavy loads within confines of equipment space
• To climb stairs, ladders, walk and stand on concrete floors
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, and lying down to facilitate repairs
