Position Summary:

Nippon Light Metal Georgia, Inc. (NLM) is seeking Machine Operators to join our growing operation in Adairsville, Georgia. As we continue building the foundation of our company, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to safe, efficient, and consistent production from the ground up.

NLM is a comprehensive aluminum manufacturer with capabilities ranging from raw materials to fabricated aluminum products. Our goal is to support continued growth and business expansion by creating new value for our customers.

In this role, Machine Operators will be cross‑trained on multiple machines and will be responsible for setting up and operating assigned equipment to produce aluminum automotive components through various stages of the manufacturing process. This position is well suited for someone who works steadily, follows established procedures, and takes pride in producing reliable, high‑quality output.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform assigned duties while supporting the company's objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM).
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support process improvements when identified.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Set up and operate assigned machines according to established procedures, safety requirements, and production standards.
  • Perform required pre-operational, in-process, and end-of-shift inspections in accordance with work instructions.
  • Follow established production schedules and work assignments to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor equipment operation and product output to maintain quality and identify issues promptly.
  • Contribute to the production of quality products by following defined quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Notify supervisors and maintenance of equipment concerns and assist with troubleshooting within defined guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality records as required.
  • Operate production equipment, measuring devices, and shop tools required for assigned work area.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor output, identify deviations, and respond appropriately within defined procedures.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Stop production and notify supervision when quality concerns or unsafe conditions are identified.
  • Successfully complete training and demonstrate competency on multiple production machines as assigned.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting within established work instructions and notify maintenance when repairs are required.
  • Report all injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and quality concerns immediately.
  • Report to work as scheduled and maintain reliable attendance to support production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality personnel, and team members regarding production, quality, and equipment issues.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and use hands to manipulate, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, and crouch.
  • The employee must be able to speak and hear and must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to auto focus.
  • Must be able to work through climate changes, including extreme heat and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule, overtime, weekends, or holidays as production demands require.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, gloves, and any other required protective equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:

Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience operating production equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read work instructions and complete production documentation.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to use calipers, gauges, or measuring equipment preferred.

Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification after hire, if required for the assigned work area.
