Job Description

We have a career opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator to join the LeachGarner team and learn to be a precious metals Welder.

4-day work week!
4:45 am - 3:15 pm Monday - Thursday

As a Welder, you will perform welding operations for various alloys and stock sizes. The Welder sets up parts for welding utilizing hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures, and prepares and completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Measure and cut materials to meet specifications
• Set up welding equipment to meet specifications
• Weld products using the correct materials to join the metals together and ensure specifications are met
• Perform related tasks including sizing, grinding, and cleaning
• Set-up and layout work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products
• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications
• Inspect and maintain functional equipment
• Collect scrap and weigh, record, and move to designated weigh station
• Work from routings, order sheets, drawings, specifications, verbal and written instructions
• Perform other tasks as needed to further our company's goals and uphold our commitments

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Experience using calipers and micrometers
• Understanding of production procedures
• Able to speak and understand English
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• High level of attention to detail
• Good math skills
• High school diploma or GED; technical degree is a plus

Physical and work condition demands of the position:

• Standing and walking throughout 10-hour shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to push and pull with force
• Ability to reach, stoop, and crouch for long periods
• Visual acuity for quality inspections and defect detection
• Repetitive motion
• Willing and able to wear PPE at all times as required
