Job summary

Greif, Inc. in Austell, GA is seeking a Machine Operator for the third shift to run festoons, jigs, and saws, set up machines, read tape measures and COAs, and ensure product meets specifications. You will build pallets, manually pack finished goods, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of relevant experience. You should be able to read measuring tools, work overtime as needed, and communicate with the crew to meet quality

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare festoons, jigs, and saws and make adjustments as necessary for each work order using hand tools
• Dependable and ability to work overtime as required
• Adhere to specific quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction
• Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers
• Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements
• Perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs
• Will build pallets to customer specs to pack out finished product
• Manually pack finished product onto pallets for shipment
• Knowledge of machine including parts and function
• Interact with Seltrol system
• Set up and troubleshoot overwrap orders
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area
• Follow safety regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Machine Operator - Third Shift (Open)

Key Responsibilities

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Follow directions and work well in a team.
• Competency in machine set-up
• Ability to communicate expectation with crew
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Stooping, bending, and moving about plant for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers and other measuring tools

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $30.77 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $19.23 to $30.77. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
