Job description

In this position, you will get to:

  1. Provide backup support to the production supervisor and lead all aspects of the daily operations of the assembly line.
  2. Support the production process by filling in positions on the line when vital to maintain the flow of work during absences (Vacation, PTO, Restroom breaks, etc.).
  3. Able to carry out company and department policy and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  4. Operate a variety of equipment applicable within the assigned area (e.g., CRTs, forklifts, etc.).
  5. Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of materials into, within, and out of the assigned work area as needed.
  6. Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision-making, and recognizing them for exceptional work.
  7. Monitor assembly processes and conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues or defects.
  8. Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
  9. Offer guidance, feedback, and support to production staff regarding performance, quality, safety, and procedures.
  10. Report malfunctioning or damaged equipment, materials, or products to the Production Supervisor and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  11. Maintain accurate and timely records of production data, including output, waste, defects, inventory, labor hours, and downtime.
  12. Participate in cross-training and activities to enhance skills and support other production areas as needed.
  13. Align with all company policies, procedures, and regulations regarding health, safety, environment, and hygiene.

You have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing/Production Team Lead role or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical repairs or troubleshooting.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, initiative, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate job expectations and monitor, guide, and implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business circumstances and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to conduct operator training on standard work, instructions, machine adjustments, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize production and ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Report tardiness, attendance, and disciplinary issues to the supervisor to achieve high productivity.
  • Act as a change agent by applying Lean methodologies to eliminate waste.
