Job summary

Turbocam Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathe, mill, and balance machines for prototyping and production of machined parts.

The starting pay is $21 per hour with a 15% shift differential on the 2nd shift, plus a strong benefits package and opportunities for growth within a supportive shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Experience running CNC machines (lathe, mill and balance) helpful.
• Basic understanding of MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel desired.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment helpful.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Good interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
• Requires occasional lifting and carrying of 25 lbs. or more and standing for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathe, mill and/or balance machines.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on the machines.
• Report deviations in machine performance to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
• Advise on tools and tooling needed to complete turning projects.
• Maintain fixtures and set-ups for upcoming projects.
• Keep work areas clean and safe to improve shop efficiency.
• Coordinate with others for shared shop equipment usage.
• Inspect and document operations per QMS and product specs.
• Familiarize with robotic safety and basic operations.
• Report hazards or incidents to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Job description

Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for setting up, utilizing, and operating assigned lathe, mill, and/or balance CNC machines and supporting machine procedures for the prototyping and production of machined parts. Starting pay is $21/hour and we offer a 15% shift differential when working on 2nd shift!

Responsibilities

• Perform set-up and operation of assigned lathe, mill and/or balance machine/s.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on the lathe, mill and/or balance machines as needed and required.
• Report all deviations in proper machine performance to direct supervisor, other shop supervisor, and/or Machine Maintenance personnel (when warranted).
• Advise and consult with direct supervisor, and/or shop supervisor as applicable, for tools and tooling needed to complete turning projects.
• Maintain fixtures and set-ups for use in specified projects as assigned when applicable.
• Support and maintain overall shop efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe. Check hoppers, filters, bags and machines daily; wiping down outside, washing down inside, cleaning conveyor belts and other areas as needed.
• Cooperate and coordinate with other personnel for usage of shared shop equipment.
• Inspect and document all operations per TAPS procedures as stated in the Quality Manual as well as per specifications of the product engineer, project manager, and direct supervisor.
• Obtain familiarity with robotic safety and basic operations.
• Report all hazards or incidents to direct supervisor.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
