Job summary

Silgan Closures in Evansville, IN is hiring a Machine Operator to join our team. You will operate, maintain, adjust, and diagnose sheet fed presses and luggers, as well as ovens and compound machines.

You’ll change loads of plate, inspect caps, and manage cartons while assisting with tooling and setup. We offer competitive starting pay of $21.10 per hour plus shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts, plus comprehensive benefits and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist/bend for extended periods.
• Must be able to climb ladders, be lifted in a scissor lift, and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, adjust, and diagnose sheet fed presses and luggers, compound machines, and ovens.
• Change loads of plate.
• Inspect caps (visually and using instrumentation).
• Remove full cartons, position empty cartons, seal and stack full cartons.
• Assist with removing and installing tooling, guides, and chutes.
• Setup and adjust timing mechanisms.
• Remove jams and lubricate equipment.
• Complete required paperwork.
