Description
Nashville Wire Products is hiring Machine Operator Setup Technicians for its Material Handling Division on the overnight shift in Frankfort, Kentucky. This full-time role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining automated welding and metal forming machinery used to create steel wire shelving for pallet racks for distributors and major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Lowes.
Pay & Schedule
- Shift Schedule:Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 6:30 am (50 hours per week most weeks).
- Base Pay Progression Class 4:Starts at$25.50/hour, increases to$26.50/hourat 90 days, and reaches$27.50/hourafter 1 year.
- Base Pay Progression Class 3:Starts at$21.25/hour, increases to$22.25/hourat 90 days, and reaches$23.50/hourafter 1 year.
Class designation is determined by our management team based upon skill set and prior work experience
- Shift Differential:An additional+$1.00/houris added to the above base rates for the overnight shift.
- Overtime:Generousdouble-time payfor all hours worked over 40 hours in a week.
- Average Annual Pay: 1 year pay rate class 4 with 50 hour work week including double time and shift differential is approximately $89,000/year
- Average Annual Pay: 1 year pay rate class 3 with 50 hour work week including double time and shift differential is approximately $76,000/year
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Programming:Input data and adjust computerized production machinery within established standards.
- Equipment Operation:Set up and monitor automated welding and metal forming equipment.
- Maintenance & Quality Control:Perform minor and major preventive maintenance, conduct quality inspections against blueprint specifications, and rework non-conforming parts.
- Training & Reporting:Train other operators on safety and quality standards, keep accurate production counts, and complete daily paperwork.
Candidate Requirements
- Skills:Strong mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Communication:Ability to communicate technical information and troubleshoot machine performance.
- Experience:Prior experience with computer-operated equipment setup is preferred.
- Screening:Applicants must pass a drug screen and a 7-year background check (covering both misdemeanors and felonies).
