Job summary

Greif, Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator for second shift at our Austell, Georgia facility. You will prepare festoons, jigs, saws, and adjust equipment per work orders while maintaining safety and quality standards. Overtime may be required and you will read measurement tools to verify specs.

You will work as part of a team, setup machines, and pack finished products for shipment, adhering to COAs and company procedures. The position offers competitive pay and our Total Rewards program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders for machine setup.
• Competency in machine set-up and operation.
• Lifts up to 50 pounds and moves about the plant for up to 8 hours.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare festoons, jigs, and saws and adjust per work orders using hand tools.
• Read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements.
• Perform periodic quality checks to ensure specs and COAs are met.
• Pack finished product onto pallets for shipment and build pallets to spec.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Interact with Seltrol system and troubleshoot overwrap orders as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare festoons, jigs, and saws and make adjustments as necessary for each work order using hand tools
• Dependable and ability to work overtime as required
• Adhere to specific quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction
• Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers
• Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements
• Perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs
• Will build pallets to customer specs to pack out finished product
• Manually pack finished product onto pallets for shipment
• Knowledge of machine including parts and function
• Interact with Seltrol system
• Set up and troubleshoot overwrap orders
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area
• Follow safety regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $30.77annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between19.23 to30.77. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
