Job summary

Mondi Group in Eastman, GA is seeking a Machine Operator to support production lines in the packaging & paper division. You will follow safety guidelines, read and interpret POF, set up machines, and maintain productivity.

The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, weekend and overnight shifts, and overtime as needed. Mondi offers training opportunities (Mondi Academy), health benefits, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Previous machine operator experience preferred.
• Must be able to work any day and any shift, including weekends and overnight shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures as required.
• Understand the Job Safety Analysis and Energy Safe Procedures for the position and machine.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
• Understands lockout – tagout procedures for assigned equipment.
• Read and interpret plant order information (POF) and complete required forms.
• Follow quality rules and procedures and perform quality checks on products.
• Follow SQF policies and procedures including food safety, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and auditing.
• Understand machine capabilities, determine if machine can produce the required product, and ensure materials for the production run are available.
• Set up machines for production runs and document setups.
• Maintain machine speed and productivity; adjust as needed.
• Organize Assistant Operators and Inspectors for efficiency; coach others on production, quality, and safety.
• Perform oil and grease procedures, replace parts, and troubleshoot machine issues; perform minor repairs.
• Operate hand truck, drum dolly, and electric pallet jack as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the work area; sweep, mop, trash disposal.
• May be required to operate forklift truck.
• Read a tape measure.
• Possess basic math skills and ability to use computer software.
