Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and maintain equipment to meet production deadlines, ensuring safety and quality. You will read job tickets, set up machines, and manage packing and labeling of products while adhering to 6S standards.

Overtime may be required during busy periods. The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, experience with manufacturing equipment, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing equipment and machine maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner.
• Maintain machine workflow to meet project deadlines.
• Read job tickets and initiate machine set-ups per job ticket specifications.
• Count, pack, and label sleeves, cartons, and skids.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines as needed.
• Ensure 6S practices are being followed.
