Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Assistant Machine Operator to support our packaging production. You will set up, operate, and maintain packaging machines while following safety and quality standards.

You will monitor operations, troubleshoot, document data, and collaborate with the team to meet production targets. This role requires physical ability and flexibility to work overtime and shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work safely and follow safety regulations.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., stand and bend for long shifts.
• Able to work in hot/humid environment and overtime.
• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with safety practices and troubleshooting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, calibrate and operate manufacturing equipment.
• Monitor machine operations and ensure production quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machinery.
• Document production data and maintenance activities.
