Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking an Operator Trainee to support daily production activities while learning to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. You will gain hands-on experience with machine setup, quality checks, material handling and basic troubleshooting alongside experienced team members.

This role provides a solid foundation for advancing into operator-level positions within the production team, with comprehensive training and a clear path to growth in a global packaging

Qualifications

• Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with press operators.
• Attention to detail in inspection and documentation.
• Willingness to learn across production, maintenance and housekeeping.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Support daily production activities and machine setup.
• Assist maintenance staff and keep work areas clean.
• Help with preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.
• Inspect printed and packed materials for quality.
