Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Machine Operator for the River Valley Ingredients Plant A in Hanceville, AL. You will operate machinery to ensure continuous production and verify ingredients and supplies are on the line, adjusting settings as needed and notifying supervision for maintenance.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in hot or cold environments with loud noise. Safety and Tyson policies are essential.

Qualifications

• 6 consecutive months of work within the last 12 months.
• Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days.
• Rehire rule: no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Certain roles may require background checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to ensure continuous production flow.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed.

Role: Machine Operator RE03 Shift: B Shift Nights Base Pay: $22.85 per hour Location: River Valley Ingredients, Plant A in Hanceville, AL

Description: This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. These openings require standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, bending, stretching, reaching, working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions. Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high pressure hose. Must be able to read and complete required logs. Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. May be required to operate frontend loader, manlift, or forklift and will be required to obtain certification to do so. This position requires documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
