Job summary

Sur-Seal is seeking a Preco Operator for the 2nd shift to ensure safe and productive machine operation and to support material handling, quality, and yield goals. The role requires adherence to job routers, schedules, and in-process inspection policies, with opportunities to lead a team on jobs needing packing support.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, and maintenance tasks as needed, following Sur-Seal policies, while maintaining a safe, clean work cell and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand part prints and perform basic quality measurements.
• Knowledge of Preco cutting techniques and safety requirements.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; works cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the machine safely to complete the daily schedule using make-readies.
• Follow Production Schedule Access Database and job routers for paperwork and requirements.
• Adhere to in-process inspection policies and material handling guidelines; monitor yield per job ran.

Preco Operator, 2nd ShiftHours: 2:45pm-12:00am Monday-Thursday, 2:45pm-7:45pm FridayJob Summary:The Preco Operator will ensure safe and productive operation of the machine. The operator will adhere to the quality, yield, material handling, efficiency, and safety requirements of Sur-Seal. The operator must also strive to meet both internal and external customer expectations, per each job set-up and manufacturing run. The operator is also responsible for team leadership on those jobs requiring additional material and picking/packing support. The operator may also be required to perform some types of regular machine maintenance.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Safe, efficient set-up and operation of machine in the completion of the daily schedule. Including the use of make-readies.Understands and uses Production Schedule Access Database.Understands and follows paperwork requirements per jobUnderstands and follows instructions on job routers. This includes quality, safety, and material handling requirements the customer may have beyond Sur-Seal’s requirements.Understands and strives to meet pph hour requirements per job ran.Know, understand, and follow Sur-Seal’s in-process inspection policies for operators.Know, understand, and follow Sur-Seal’s raw material handling policies and guidelines for operators including yield management per each job ran, return of un-used material pulled for a job, reporting of suspected non-conforming materialKnow, understand, and follow requirements for disposition of finished goods per each job ran.Know, understand, and follow Sur-Seal’s Quality and Environmental policies.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work cell.Show effective team leadership abilities when raw material and/or packaging support is needed and additional employees are required in the machine’s work cell to assist the operator in the efficient completion of jobs.Know, understand, and complete any machine maintenance requirements that may be expected of the operator.Complete other duties as assigned by Area LeaderKnowledge/Skills:Specific knowledge of Preco cutting techniques related to the machine, capabilities, and safety requirements.Ability to read and understand part prints and perform basic quality measurements.Effectively communicates both written and orally.
