Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Machine Operator for the 1st shift in Chicago, IL to support plating processes and produce circuit boards with multiple finishes for electrical conductivity.

The role requires standing for long periods, good manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training on various plating processes may be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tanks by removing residue, checking anodes and making necessary additions.
• Setting proper temperatures and cycle times.
• Prepare the surface of the board through various cleaning processes.
• Verify quality requirements to finished product.
• Operator may be trained on processes such as Black Oxide, Deburr, Desmear/Electroless Copper, Pattern Plating, Nickel/Gold, Black Hole, Etchers, Silver and Resist Strip.

1sd shift runs from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Some overtime will be available during the week with occasional half days on Saturdays.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS - MACHINE OPERATOR / PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Actively involved in all duties for procedures related to plating processing a variety of circuit board to obtain multiple finishes for electrical conductivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare tanks by removing residue, checking anodes and making necessary additions.
• Setting proper temperatures and cycle times.
• Prepare the surface of the board through various cleaning processes.
• Verify quality requirements to finished product.
• Operator may be trained on the following processes as deemed necessary: Black Oxide, Deburr, Desmear/Electroless Copper, Pattern Plating, Nickel/Gold, Black Hole, Etchers, Silver and Resist Strip.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to department supervisor and Director of Operations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing for long periods of time is required.

Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.

Use of plating thickness instruments including microscope, fixture and hand tools so good vision and dexterity required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dirt and chemicals.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with some overtime available during the week, and occasional half days on Saturdays.
