BlueScope Coated Products in Middletown, OH, is seeking a Finish Coater A operator for the night shift. You will setup the coater, monitor parameters, and coordinate with QC Lab Tech to maintain quality.

Responsibilities include data entry in Oracle, cleaning, tool handling, and adhering to safety and environmental standards. A high school diploma is required; 6+ months of mobile equipment experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Signed off as a Coater Assistant or Prime Coater Operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Finish Coater in the Finish A room, setting up the coater and measuring parameters (wet film thickness, viscosity, temperature, roll speeds).
• Record paint usage and enter data into Oracle; communicate with Production and Quality Control to resolve issues.
• Keep work area clean and orderly; perform roll changes and equipment cleaning as required.
• Follow safety and Environmental Management System standards and shift instructions.

Night Shift 5:45p to 6a Monday through Thursday Shift

Responsibilities

Finish Coater A operator is responsible for the safe operation of the roll coater in the Finish A room. Finish A coater is a single head coater. Duties include setting up the Coater, measuring painting parameters (wet film thickness, viscosity, temperature, roll speeds), adjusting the Coater following direction from QC Lab Tech, performing roll changes, cleaning painting equipment, moving paint drums in and out of the coater room, measuring and documenting paint usage information, entering data into Oracle. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works from shop order, schedules, and special instruction
• Responsible for keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Responsible for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place at BlueScope
• Communicates daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals

*This position opening is for night shift only*

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
• Signed off as a Coater Assistant or Prime Coater Operator

Preferred

• 6+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing environment
