Job summary

Charter Steel in Saukville, WI, is hiring a Draw Machine Operator for the night shift (5pm–5am). You will operate coil upender, payoff equipment, and forklifts, with a 12-hour rotating schedule (5 nights on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off).

Starting wage is $26.50/hour with a $2,000 hiring bonus. We offer comprehensive benefits, 401(k) match, PTO, and promotional growth opportunities; HS diploma or GED required, forklift experience a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; GED Works program available.
• Hands-on learner who enjoys working with their hands.
• Strong teamwork and excellent attendance.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for full shifts.
• Manufacturing/industrial production background; metals industry.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate coil upender, compactor, and payoff equipment.
• Operate hydraulic and pneumatic hand tools.
• Transport, handle, and package coils per MDS requirements.
• Enter production data into computer systems.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Maintain effective communication with production and support teams.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Stand for long shifts; rotate 5-2-2-5 schedule; 12 hour shifts.

Draw Machine Operator | 5pm to 5am | $26.50/hr

• Operate coil upender, compactor, and payoff equipment.
• Operate hydraulic and pneumatic hand tools
• Transport, handle, and package coils according to Material Design Sheet (MDS) requirements.
• Accurately enter production data into computer systems.
• Safely operate a forklift
• Maintain effective communication with production and support teams.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling. Push/pull, and lifting up to 20lbs. Reaching over 15" away from your body
• Rotating 5-2-2-5 Schedule. 12 hour shifts. 5 nights on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off!

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. If you don’t have it, we’ll support you through our free GED Works program.
• Skills: Quick learners who enjoy working with their hands.
• Team Players: Strong teamwork skills and excellent attendance.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow safety instructions and maintain high standards.
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a full shift.
• Background in manufacturing or industrial production, assembly, machining, set-up, metals industry
• Forklift experience is a plus!
